Samhain, the History of Halloween with Barry Cloyd

Thursday, October 126:00—7:00 PMConference Room

Samhain (pronounced sah-win) or the celebration we know as Halloween, actually began as a harvest festival in ancient Ireland. The roots of this celebration are deep and in this program, award winning singer/songwriter Barry Cloyd will draw back the curtain of our everyday world and take the audience into the “otherworld” on a dimly lit Celtic path of story and song. We'll visit Irish ghost history with tales of giants and fairy folk, banshees and leprechauns. All this will be accompanied by Cloyd's strong vocals, guitars, and banjo.
